The North Bend School District Superintendent, Kevin Bogatin announces the hiring of Ms. Stacia Fletcher as the new principal of Hillcrest Elementary School.

Ms. Fletcher will be joining the North Bend community from Newport, Oregon where she is currently a 3rd grade teacher and K-3 Comprehensive Distance Learning Lead in the Lincoln County School District. 

Ms. Fletcher has a Master's degree in Marine Science and before entering public education had a successful career leading and directing Marine Laboratories and Aquariums in South Carolina and California. Her most recent position in that field was the School Programs Manager for the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California. In that role she worked with students, educators, and scientists in curriculum development and developing successful K-12 marine education programs.

"Ms. Fletcher's strong  leadership background in both the private sector and public education has really prepared her for this  opportunity to serve the students and families of North Bend. Her belief in students, strong relationships, and a commitment to a welcoming and inclusive school culture will be cornerstones of her success in the coming year."
